Their out look on life and lives situations can be invaluable in your recovery. If you look, these people can be found every where. They are involved in sports, hobbies, volunteer work, dance lessons and special interest groups. Finding out what friends and co-worker do for fun can be a great way to meet people who enjoy life. You really deserve that right now! Also treat your-self occasionally. Possibly to a fun movie or a special dinner out. Some thing as simple as window shopping can be fun. Look through a pet store or watch kids at play. Replace staying a home and feeling sorry sessions with some time out... even if you don't feel like it ... Force you self! Your Therapist may be aware of a support group that deals with depression ... Join it! Really... don't put it off. Call until you find the right group... go to the different groups until you find one that you re comfortable with. Believe it or not there are many others that feel like you do. Knowing your not alone is important. Other places to find groups may be through local churches or your local social services agencies, self-help clearing houses and free clinics. Recovery is a nationwide organization that helps persons overcome the nervous symptoms and fears that often accompany depression, panic and anxiety attacks. Anxiety often accompanies depression. The meetings are led by carefully trained volunteer leaders, many of whom have stood in your shoes. They demonstrate the techniques that can help you overcome the hopeless feeling of depression. Another support group to consider may be Emotions Anonymous. They deal with emotion in general and follow a twelve step program There are no required fees to attend these groups, donations are on a voluntary basis.
