About us headline
NAADAD is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing information about recovery from Drugs, Alcohol, Depression and Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).

There were a lot of professional people who were instrumental in development of the video "Good News About Sad Views" and the free info in this site. (The video was used for the basis of this site) Without Susan Wright Ph. D. and Dr. Eric Rauch S.T.M. this site would not have been possible. Also special thanks to Betsie Saltzberg M.Ed., Mira Walter Donenwirth Ph. D. for their input and review of material. A special thanks also goes out to Karen J. Brocco, M.D. Psychiatrist/Metro Health Medical Center for her review of the final video tape. Also thank you to all the anonymous people suffering from Depression and or BPD who participated in the research needed for this project.

A WORD FROM OUR PRESIDENT.
I, like a lot of other people, have had bouts with Depression. When I finally realized what I was suffering from, I sought help. Help didn't come easily for me. The first Psychologist I saw needed more help than I did. After three sessions I was ready to ask him if he wanted to lay on the coach. I sought out group meetings and became even more depressed. Don't get me wrong, I think a self help group can be A very good thing. I had just picked some that were not good for me. No one there had similar problems with depression or didn't have any answers that worked for me. Believe me I was looking for quick answers, not years of a multi-step program (sorry, that's not me).

About placeholder
There are groups I do recommend in Links. The next Psychologist I saw was very good. She helped guide me in the right direction. She had never suffered from Depression but was up on the subject and willing to work with me. Again like a lot of other people I couldn't afford to visit her on a daily or weekly basis. In-between visits I would continue to do my own research and write down anything I found helpful. I do this by nature as I am somewhat of a writer and producer. I am used to researching as I like to do my own scripts. I also needed the notes to help me remember what I had found and yes I was that bad. One thing led to another and I found a cure that worked for me. I believe it will work for many others as well. I turned my notes into a video "Good News About Sad Views" and into this web site. Don't feel you have to buy the video as I am giving you some of the same info for free on this site. (The Video is the easiest way to learn, but what ever.) (Couldn't put all of the video in this site. Technical reasons).
Dedications:

This site is dedicated to my son Bruce Wayne Bynum who took his own life at seventeen because of depression and BPD. I also want to thank God who helped me through this in ways you may never know.
